Moncton, December 1, 2021 - Torrential rains and flooding have caused enormous damage to communities in British Columbia. True to its mission and purpose, Assumption Life is committed to supporting Canadians from coast to coast and will donate $10 to the Canadian Red Cross for each insurance policy sold in British Columbia during the month of December 2021.

"Our team at Assumption Life lives our corporate values, including commitment, on a daily basis. At the heart of financial security, our mission is to make a difference for our clients and our communities. We stand in solidarity with the people of British Columbia and wish to make a tangible contribution through this campaign to support those affected by this disaster," said Sébastien Dupuis, president and CEO of Assumption Life.

In addition to a $1,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross, the mutual insurance company has therefore launched the "Coming together to help our communities" initiative. The company is committed to donating ten dollars to the Canadian Red Cross for each insurance policy sold in British Columbia during the month of December 2021.

"We also invite our members and partners to be generous in their support of the Red Cross to help these hard-hit Canadians in British Columbia," adds Mr. Dupuis.

The British Columbia and Canadian governments announced a donation matching program for every $1 donated to the Canadian Red Cross will become $3 to support those affected by the floods until Friday, December 24th.

Founded in 1903, Assumption Life offers individual insurance, group insurance, investment and retirement products, as well as mortgage loans. It is present in all provinces and territories of Canada. The company's head office is located in Moncton, New Brunswick.
