Assumption Life group plan sponsors can add on-demand virtual care to support plan members and their families health and wellbeing.
Moncton (NB), July 7, 2021 — Assumption Life is taking action to support plan sponsors in enhancing employee health and well-being by offering online general practitioner visits using Maple's industry leading virtual care platform. Through this program, plan sponsors will be able to provide plan members with direct and rapid access to general practitioners in Canada for acute, chronic and mental health care concerns.
“This past year has been unlike any other. By providing access to virtual care we hope to relieve the stress plan members face when needing to access general practitioners, whether it’s because they have a non-emergent care issue, don’t have access to a family doctor, or require support for other healthcare needs,” said Rachelle Gagnon, Vice president Group Insurance at Assumption Life. “Maple’s personalized service aligns with our focus to differentiate ourselves through customer and distributor experience. We are delighted to bring this option to all our clients.”
Using the Maple platform, plan members and their families will be able to access care from the comfort of their home, cutting down on transit, long wait times and unwanted exposure. With access to licensed Canadian physicians, plan members can receive medical advice, diagnoses, prescriptions and lab orders at their fingertips. Additional features available through this partnership include access to specialists referrals, medical notes, and storing and sharing medical records to support continuity of care.
“Companies that invest in virtual care as an employee benefit see continuous improvements in workplace productivity, job satisfaction, and their team’s understanding of mental health,” said Christy Prada, VP Business Development, Maple. “Programs like this help employers bolster their wellness culture and show commitment to their teams’ health and well-being.”
This digital service launched by Assumption Life is aimed at their ongoing commitment to provide simplified and relevant offerings to plan sponsors and members.
