Sébastien Dupuis first joined Assumption Life in 2001 as a financial analyst, a position he held until October 2005 when he was promoted to Director of Finance. He then rose to the ranks of Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer in 2015 to become President and CEO of Assumption Life since January 2019.

As CEO, Sébastien Dupuis has always been committed to working on transforming the organizational culture at Assumption Life. As a result of its internal efforts, the company has won numerous awards, most notably, the prestigious Sapphire Culture Award in 2024, , presented by the international firm Human Synergistics. These awards recognize the value of quality over quantity, that creativity is worth more than conformity and that collaboration leads to better results: values that Sébastien holds dear.

His thoroughness, analytical skills and exemplary leadership make him a respected colleague and leader among his peers. He has been recognized as one of the top 50 CEOs in 2023, 2024, and 2025 by Atlantic Business Magazine. In addition, on two occasions, in 2005 and 2011, he won the Manager of the Year Award during the Assumption Life Awards of Excellence.

His leadership and collaboration skills have enabled Assumption Life to distinguish itself through its customer service and its distinctive product line. With a focus on trusting relationships with its partners, the mutual company has simplified its processes with comprehensive solutions.

Michel Allain

Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary

A committed professional with Assumption Life since 1999, Mr. Allain has been Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Actuary since 2018. He and his team are responsible for the sound management of the company's actuarial operations.

He is responsible for the company's financial strategies and operations, the enterprise risk management and corporate actuarial activities. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Vestcor Inc. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Théâtre l’Escaouette Foundation. 

Mr. Allain holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Université Laval. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). 

Luc Bossé

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Luc Bossé joined Assumption Life's management team in September 2020 and his new responsibilities include managing the sales and marketing sector. His strategies will help make a difference for Assumption Life's customers and partners, not to mention the communities we serve.
 
This dynamic manager has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry and will bring his vast expertise to the management team. A leader with exceptional skills in the development of sales and marketing strategies, negotiation and the development of relationships with partners, Luc will enable Assumption Life to achieve the ambitious growth objectives set for the coming years.
 
Luc holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Université du Québec à Rimouski. 

Marie-Claude Thibodeau

Vice President, Offer Management and Client Experience

Marie-Claude Thibodeau joined Assumption Life in January 2022 as Vice President, Actuarial and Product Development. In 2025, she began a new chapter in her career by becoming Vice President, Offer Management and Client Experience, taking on responsibility for large teams dedicated to customer experience and business performance. Building on her previous roles, she continues with conviction to pursue a vision of delivering a distinctive, human centered experience by offering simple insurance and savings solutions, while committing to the continuous improvement of our processes and offerings to ensure they remain accessible.

With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Marie-Claude is a versatile actuary who has held leadership roles in individual insurance, savings and retirement, and group insurance. She combines strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of operations, ensuring alignment between products, processes, and the overall client experience - from risk selection to claims, including customer service for savings products.

She holds a degree in actuarial science from Université Laval, and she is an associate of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Tony McLaughlin

Vice President, Chief Information and Technology Officer

A dedicated professional at Assumption Life since 2022, Mr. McLaughlin is an information technology expert and public speaker, internationally recognized for his expertise in large-scale information systems. He now specializes in delivering IT services in the insurance and gaming sectors.

He is actively involved in the youth sports community as a coach in hockey, handball, football, and volleyball.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Université de Moncton, with a major in Information Technology and a minor in Information Systems Management.
 

Michel Simard

Vice President, Group Insurance

Michel Simard joined Assumption Life in September 2023, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in the group insurance industry. 

Michel is an actuary, as well as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Throughout his various roles, he has stood out for his exceptional business development and relationship management skills. 

Michel proudly embraces the Assumption Life values of collaboration, trust, commitment and leadership, and shares our desire to truly make a difference.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Université Laval.
